Mara Strayer

Welded Sculpture

I studied graphics and metalsmithing at the University of Kansas. Since graduating over 30 years ago, I have worked in both fields. My husband and I have raised two amazing daughters, traveled extensively and moved coast to coast to coast. I love taking pictures, reading, baking, hiking, gardening, and collecting art.
But, I wanted something more.
So, in 2016, I took a year, and got my welding certificate.
My life experiences help mold my distinct graphic style.
I want each of my pieces to reflect my love of nature, combining it's beauty with steel.
I want to always evolve, learn and create. It's in my nature.
